Head Lice Season

With colder weather upon us, it is great to see students bundled up with hats, gloves, and coats.   Please remind your children not to share clothing items with others, as that can lead to the transmission lice.  Several cases of lice have occurred at school; please check your child’s hair on a regular basis.  We are encouraging girls to wear their hair up to reduce the chance of transmission. If you find any evidence of lice, treat him/her promptly with lice treatment recommended by your health care provider or pharmacist.  Your child should remain home for a full day following first treatment. If you find evidence of lice on your child, please notify the school by sending a note including the date of the treatment and the name of the lice product used.

Evidence of head lice was reported from some of the classrooms.  We are asking that you check your child’s head several times a week.
