JACKSON COUNTY SUMMER POSITIONS

Jackson County is advertising to fill the following summer, seasonal positions in the Public Works Department for 2021:

 

Parks Maintenance Crew

Minimum qualifications are a valid driver’s license and 16 years of age. Must have working knowledge of lawn mowers, landscaping and carpentry equipment.  Starting salary is $11.50/hour. These are full-time seasonal positions typically working 7:00 am to 3:30 pm Monday through Friday with weekend work on a rotation basis.

Public Works Receptionist

Minimum qualifications are a valid driver’s license and 18 years of age. Must have strong organization skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Starting salary is $11.50/hour. This is a full-time seasonal position typically working 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday.

 

The county lowered the age to allow 16 and 17 year olds with a valid drivers license to apply for our summer parks positions.

Applications may be obtained on the county website at www.co.jackson.mn.us, from the Jackson County Coordinator's Office, 405 Fourth Street, Jackson, MN  56143, or by calling 507-847-4182.  Resumes will be accepted but must be accompanied by a completed application.  Faxed or emailed applications will not be accepted. These positions will be open until filled and interviews may occur when an application is received.  These seasonal summer positions will close August 1, 2021 and no applications will be accepted after this date.

 

In order to ensure the safety of citizens, employees and property, Jackson County has adopted a drug and alcohol testing policy which applies to all candidates being considered for employment with Jackson County. (Ref. Policy 501). A Drug and Alcohol test must be completed within 24 hours of all contingent verbal offers of employment, unless alternate scheduling arrangements are approved by the County Coordinator.
